Israeli citizen sentenced for spying for the regime ruling Iran

The Haifa Magistrate’s Court sentenced 32-year-old Pars Abu al-Hij'a, a resident of Jisr az-Zarqa, to four and a half years in prison on Tuesday for maintaining contact with a foreign intelligence agent. According to court documents, Abu al-Hij'a photographed crowded public locations for operatives of the regime ruling Iran before being tasked with documenting the home of former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. He reportedly received approximately $3,000 for these missions. The defendant was arrested earlier this year while conducting an intelligence-gathering operation and admitted to the contact during interrogations by the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and police. Meanwhile, Israeli security officials announced an indictment against 31-year-old Sultan Abu al-Hij'a from Tamra, who was arrested on suspicion of contacting Hamas' military wing and intelligence operatives of the regime ruling Iran. In a separate case, a 32-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum was arrested for allegedly maintaining contact with a foreign agent in Lebanon and performing security-related missions for payment. These cases follow a major indictment filed last month against two Ashkelon residents accused of spying for the regime ruling Iran.
