Rising tensions in the Middle East; CENTCOM reports destruction of Iranian oil tankers

US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that following two ballistic missile attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on a US warship over the past 48 hours, American forces destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers. Simultaneously, Jordan announced that it intercepted at least 35 missiles fired by Iran targeting US bases within the kingdom. Washington further claims to have destroyed a total of ten oil tankers linked to the IRGC's financial network over the past week. Meanwhile, the Pentagon denied claims by the IRGC that two US destroyers were struck, stating that all Iranian attack attempts failed.
