UAE suspends all trade with Iran following alleged missile attack

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence reported that its air defense systems detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward Emirati territory. According to UAE officials, one missile landed just outside its territorial waters, while the second fell within them. Following the incident, the UAE Foreign Ministry announced the suspension of all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran until further notice. The ministry stated the decision was taken in light of regional escalation that harms regional and international peace and security. In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei denied the UAE’s claim that Tehran had launched two ballistic missiles, labeling the accusations as baseless. He warned that such claims contradict the principle of good neighborliness and risk undermining efforts to build regional trust and prevent further escalation.
