Parfait Guiagon set for Saudi move, potentially benefiting Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv may soon receive additional revenue from the transfer of Ivorian midfielder Parfait Guiagon. According to a report by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, an agreement in principle has been reached between Charleroi and Saudi club Al-Taawoun for the 25-year-old player. Guiagon is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Saudi side. Maccabi Tel Aviv sold Guiagon to Charleroi in the summer of 2024 and retained a 20 percent sell-on clause, meaning the Israeli club stands to benefit financially from the transfer fee paid to Charleroi. Guiagon joined Maccabi in 2019 and, prior to establishing himself in the first team, had loan spells at Beitar Tel Aviv/Bat Yam and Maccabi Netanya. As the move to the Saudi league progresses, Maccabi Tel Aviv awaits its share of the proceeds from the deal.
