At least 10 killed in Bolivia military warehouse explosion

According to Reuters, a massive explosion occurred at a military warehouse in the town of Viacha, located about 30 kilometers from the Bolivian capital, La Paz. The incident, which took place around 2:30 p.m. local time, occurred at a compound where pyrotechnic materials were stored. Rita Nebraska, Viacha’s health director, told local television that the death toll is between 10 and 15, with 62 others injured. Local police reported that the blast wave shattered windows and damaged dozens of homes in the vicinity. Authorities have warned of the possibility of further explosions due to high temperatures in the area and have urged residents to remain at least 150 meters away from the site. The exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
