Terrorist who stabbed Israeli in Jordan Valley captured after hours-long manhunt

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the perpetrator of a stabbing attack in the village of al-Auja in the Jordan Valley has been captured following an hours-long manhunt. The 16-year-old suspect is accused of attacking 24-year-old career serviceman Elchanan Hanania on Sunday, leaving him moderately wounded. According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the arrest was facilitated by intelligence guidance and the combined capabilities of the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA). The suspect has been transferred for further questioning. Hanania was traveling with his family to celebrate his wedding anniversary at the time of the attack. His brothers, speaking at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, stated that the assailant ambushed him from behind, stabbing him multiple times in the shoulder and back. Hanania’s wife and children were in the vehicle during the incident, and the attacker fled after being confronted by Hanania’s father-in-law.
