IDF detains Hamas operative after crossing Gaza border line

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit reported that troops operating in the central Gaza Strip identified and detained a Hamas operative armed with a knife as he approached and crossed the border line. According to the statement, the individual was taken into Israeli territory for questioning. The IDF stated that troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements and will continue to operate to neutralize immediate threats. In a separate development, the IDF struck Hamas Nukhba commanders during a meeting in the Shati area. The military stated that the targets were advancing plans for attacks against Israeli forces, and noted that one of the individuals involved had participated in the October 7 massacre. Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on the strike, stating that Israel's policy remains focused on eliminating threats and holding those responsible for the October 7 attacks accountable to ensure the safety of soldiers and southern communities.
