Christopher Nolan On DGA Holding Studios To Account In Protecting Copyright From AI

Christopher Nolan, two-time Oscar winner and DGA president, emphasized in an interview on the Hollywood Insiders podcast that it is down to the studios to go after AI recreations of their work. He noted he was very pleased that his current Academy Award contender The Odyssey contains a legal warning against using the film to train AI data. Nolan explained that AI is too big a catchall term used by companies to absolve themselves of responsibility, portraying it as an uncontrollable Frankenstein's monster, a notion that must be strongly resisted.
