Bluey’s Daley Pearson on how losing his brother inspired his new film: ‘He was the best thing ever to me’
According to The Guardian, Daley Pearson, the Australian director and producer known for the hit animation Bluey, has opened up about the personal inspirations behind his new Netflix film, Allen, set for release on 12 November. The film, the first live-action project from Ludo Studio, follows a man obsessed with reuniting with an alien friend from his childhood. Pearson revealed that the death of his older brother, Liam, when Pearson was 13, profoundly shaped his relationship with nostalgia and his desire to cling to the past. He described the film as an exploration of the feeling of losing something and wanting it back. Pearson also discussed the technical challenges of creating the character of Allen and the pressure of following up on the global success of Bluey.
