The proposed framework includes a 'joint temporary navigational corridor' and efforts to clear mines from the waterway. Meanwhile, the UK Maritime Trade Organization reported that an oil tanker was disabled following an attack off the coast of Oman on Monday night. The crew is reported safe, and no group has claimed responsibility for the strike. Regional tensions persist elsewhere, with reports of a Palestinian killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza and a far-right Israeli lawmaker destroying a Palestinian memorial in the West Bank. Additionally, the U.S. Treasury Department announced new sanctions on nearly 60 Iran-linked entities, a move that drew criticism from China.
