Egypt seeks to revive Iran-US talks as Tehran claims victory

Egypt's foreign ministry stated that top diplomats from Egypt and Iran are discussing efforts to bring Tehran and Washington back to the negotiating table to settle the war. According to the ministry, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, also discussed Iranian-Omani talks regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian claimed that the world has accepted Iran's victory in the war. Conversely, the Trump administration has promised an unprecedented economic campaign to force Iran to end its nuclear program and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In other developments, U.S. Ambassador Tom Barrack's remarks describing the Golan Heights as occupied territory drew sharp criticism from Israel, which labeled them as contradicting the official position of the Trump administration. Additionally, reports indicate that French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are set to discuss alternative routes to bypass the Strait of Hormuz during a visit to Paris. Israeli airstrikes and drone operations continue in Gaza and Syria, resulting in further casualties.
