Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Take Me Home (4 Christmas)’ Effusively Endorsed by Writer of the Waitresses’ ‘Christmas Wrapping,’ Who Praises Her for Picking Up the ‘Vibe’ 45 Years Later
According to Variety, Olivia Rodrigo's first holiday single, 'Take Me Home (4 Christmas),' has received significant praise upon its release. Chris Butler, the writer of the 1981 classic 'Christmas Wrapping,' endorsed the track, revealing that Rodrigo had shared a sneak peek with him two months prior. While there is no direct compositional similarity between the two songs, Butler noted that Rodrigo successfully captured the same loose, spry, and irreverently romantic spirit 45 years later.
