Fars News Agency, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that an oil tanker exploded and caught fire after colliding with sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. The report did not specify the exact time of the incident. In contrast, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) denied the reports of an oil tanker explosion caused by a mine collision. CENTCOM stated that the vessel had actually been struck by an Iranian missile last month and was recently targeted again by an Iranian drone.
