Iran threatens regional countries over US sanctions on aviation

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the regime ruling Iran, has issued a threat to regional countries, warning that if they halt Iranian airline flights due to pressure from the United States, Tehran will take actions to disrupt the operations of their airports. This threat follows Washington's move to intensify pressure on Iranian aviation. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced earlier this week that starting September 23, any entity continuing to provide services to Iranian airlines—such as refueling, landing services, or ticket sales—faces the threat of secondary sanctions, which could result in being cut off from the dollar-based financial system. These tensions have escalated following Iraq's decision to suspend Iranian flights to Baghdad in response to the American warnings regarding potential sanctions.
