New details emerge in case of two Israeli teenagers spying for Iran

New details have emerged regarding the espionage case involving two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, from Kiryat Motzkin, who are accused of collaborating with Iranian intelligence. According to the indictment filed by the Haifa District Attorney's Office, the two were aware from the outset that they were dealing with a hostile Iranian operative but chose to proceed in exchange for $1,500. The case came to light following suspicious financial activity, leading to the dramatic arrest of the 14-year-old at Ben Gurion Airport upon his return to Israel. The connection began when the teenagers, seeking summer employment, joined a group on social media where they were contacted by an individual identifying as 'Daniel.' Their tasks included gathering intelligence and photographing strategic targets in cities such as Herzliya. During interrogation, one of the teenagers admitted to knowing the operative's identity, stating he did it simply for the money. It was further revealed that one of the suspects had impersonated a soldier from the IDF's Unit 8200 in an attempt to recruit other teenagers into the network.
