US Strikes Iranian Oil Tankers; Tehran Responds with Missile Barrage on Bases in Jordan

According to Maariv, the United States military has attacked Iranian oil tankers near Kharg Island and the port of Jask as part of a broader strategy to exert economic pressure. US officials confirmed to Fox News that the strategy includes damaging, disabling, and potentially sinking tankers involved in the export of Iranian crude oil. Prior to the strikes, a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters had warned that any aggression against Iranian vessels would be met with a forceful response against US interests and bases in the region. In retaliation, the IRGC announced it had launched at least 35 ballistic missiles from 12 different locations across Iran, targeting the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (Al-Azraq) in Jordan. Iranian sources claimed the strikes hit hangars and shelters housing F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets, causing significant damage. The New York Times reported that American soldiers were wounded in the attack. This is described as one of the heaviest missile barrages launched by Tehran since the conclusion of Operation Lion's Roar.
