Yair Netanyahu launches scathing attack on Ben Gvir amid electoral disputes

Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, launched a scathing attack on National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Saturday night, amid ongoing disputes regarding a potential merger between right-wing parties. Netanyahu argued that the push for a technical bloc involving Ben Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich, Moshe Feiglin, and Ofer Winter is intended to prevent the loss of right-wing votes. He accused Ben Gvir of being indifferent to whether the right-wing bloc secures a 61-seat majority, suggesting the minister would be content to sit in the opposition while a government led by political rivals is formed. Netanyahu further claimed that the minister is more focused on creating social media content than on political strategy. Turning to a personal critique, Yair Netanyahu alleged that under Ben Gvir’s tenure and the leadership of the police commissioner he appointed, the Israel Police has become an enforcement arm for the Kaplan protest movement. He accused the force of practicing a policy of persecution against right-wing figures while simultaneously allowing left-wing protesters to block roads and engage in anarchy. Additionally, he alleged that the police have failed to properly address controversies involving the military prosecutor and allegations against Force 100.
