Ukraine launches massive drone attack on Russia and Moscow during parliamentary elections

Ukrainian forces launched over 1,000 drones at Russia overnight, with hundreds targeting Moscow during the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described the wave as the largest-ever drone attack on the capital, reporting damage to a Moscow oil refinery and a residential building. Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, stated that two people were killed and 20 wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the use of domestically produced missiles and drones to strike Russian oil and logistics facilities, aiming to pressure the Russian economy. Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed its forces intercepted 1,110 Ukrainian drones across the country, Crimea, and the Black Sea. Sobyanin asserted that the attack was an attempt to disrupt the elections, which he claimed failed. Meanwhile, Russian strikes on Ukraine continued, with officials reporting the deaths of civilians, including children in Kyiv and a member of the clergy in the Kherson region.
