Ukraine targets Russia with over 1,000 drones as Moscow holds final day of elections

Ukraine launched a barrage of over 1,000 drones and missiles at Moscow and its surrounding regions, in what Russian officials described as the largest attack of the war. The strikes, occurring on the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections, ignited a fire at a major oil refinery in southeast Moscow and damaged a residential building. Local Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported at least two deaths and 20 injuries. Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that its forces intercepted 1,110 Ukrainian drones across the country, Crimea, and the Black Sea. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes, framing them as a response to Russia's war machine and a push for Western allies to impose further sanctions. Meanwhile, Russian strikes continued in Ukraine, with officials reporting the deaths of four civilians in Kyiv and a member of the clergy in the Kherson region.
