Force 100 soldier outraged over potential plea deal in Sde Teiman affair

Reports regarding negotiations for a plea deal with former Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi in connection with the 'Force 100' affair have sparked outrage among the unit's soldiers. Meir Ben Shitrit, one of the soldiers, criticized the lack of official communication, noting that the soldiers only learn about developments through the media, and vowed that they would not allow the affair to be whitewashed.

Ben Shitrit emphasized that the soldiers intend to fight within the bounds of the law. 'We will make our voices heard, stamp our feet, and fight, but we will remain law-abiding,' he stated. 'The ones who broke the law are on the other side.' According to him, many of the soldiers involved in the affair are currently serving on the front lines in Gaza and Lebanon, and they feel as though they are being stabbed in the back.

Describing the situation as a 'Pandora’s Box,' Ben Shitrit declared that they would work to expose everything that occurred, starting from Sde Teiman. He sharply criticized the military and legal systems, arguing that the institutions of the IDF and the police should not be used against the soldiers.

Ben Shitrit noted that this struggle would be different from previous ones and suggested that change must come through the ballot box, framing the upcoming election as a referendum on the judicial system. Despite their intense anger, he stressed that the soldiers do not intend to engage in illegal protests or blockades, stating, 'We do not want to behave like Kaplan. We are thinking carefully about every step.'
