Shin Bet foils ISIS plot targeting Temple Mount and IDF base

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Israel Police announced that two Israeli Arab citizens have been arrested on suspicion of pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) and planning terror attacks against security forces. Indictments are expected to be filed against the two suspects, a 16-year-old minor and a 19-year-old Haifa resident, at the Haifa District Court. According to security officials, the 16-year-old minor from the Galilee admitted during interrogation to searching for instructions on how to construct explosive belts online, with the intent of targeting police officers and soldiers at the Temple Mount. The second suspect, 19-year-old Ibrahim Ka'abiya from Haifa, was arrested for allegedly pledging allegiance to ISIS and planning an attack on an IDF base in northern Israel. The Haifa District Attorney's Office has requested that both suspects remain in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings. Israeli security officials stated that they view the involvement of citizens in activities endangering national security with extreme gravity and will utilize all available legal means to bring those responsible to justice.
