Jimmy Kimmel Calls for Donald Trump to Resign Amid Republicans’ Midterm Elections Losses

According to a Variety report published on November 5, 2026, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel roasted U.S. President Donald Trump and the Republican party in his Wednesday monologue following the Democrats' big win in the midterm elections. In what has been coined a blue wave, the Democratic party took control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate in Tuesday's elections and also flipped governorships in Texas, Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia. After celebrating the victory, Kimmel turned to Trump and his claim that if he were on the ballot, the Republicans would have won more races.
