At least 6 dead after ferry carrying nearly 270 capsizes off Northern Cyprus

According to the Times of Israel, a passenger ferry carrying nearly 270 people has capsized off the coast of Northern Cyprus. The prime minister of the Turkish-controlled area confirmed that at least 6 people have died in the incident. Search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the remaining missing passengers. Initial reports indicate that the vessel began taking on water before it overturned. Footage from the scene shows passengers wearing life vests sitting on the upturned hull of the ship. Local authorities have confirmed that 172 individuals have been rescued so far.
