Clueless sequel and Rockford Files reboot secure California tax credits

A television sequel to Clueless and a reboot of The Rockford Files are among nine new projects to have been awarded tax credits under California's film and television incentive programme. According to Variety, the office of California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that these productions are expected to generate a total of $608 million in direct production spending across the state. The projects are projected to account for a total of 1,014 filming days. The programme is designed to attract and retain film and television production within California. Clueless, which originated as a 1995 feature film, is included in this round of tax support. The Rockford Files is a reboot of the well-known crime drama series that originally starred James Garner. Variety reported that no further details regarding the networks, streaming services, casting, or production start dates for these two projects have been released.
