Two months ago, Trump suggested it was "very likely" he would support Netanyahu, while simultaneously noting that the Prime Minister "needs to be more rational." The relationship between the two leaders has experienced fluctuations during Trump's current term. Although Netanyahu has visited the White House seven times—more than any other world leader—their most recent meeting was notably brief and lacked a joint statement. Reports indicate potential friction, noting that the Trump administration did not update Jerusalem on a civilian nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia or its intentions regarding the conflict with Iran. Furthermore, the U.S. State Department recently criticized a statement by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the IDF's presence in a security zone in Lebanon, labeling it "contrary to the agreement."
