Hasidic Rabbis Reportedly Set to Meet Trump at White House

A delegation of prominent Hasidic rabbis and yeshiva heads is reportedly scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday. While the White House has not issued a public confirmation, Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum, the Satmar Rebbe of Kiryas Joel, confirmed he received an invitation to the meeting. Reports indicate that other attendees include the Skverer, Bobover, and Vizhnitzer Rebbes, as well as Rabbi Aryeh Malkiel Kotler. Rabbi Teitelbaum stated he decided to accept the invitation in hopes of assisting individuals in distress and specifically intends to raise the controversy surrounding the enlistment of yeshiva students in Israel. He expressed concern for the tens of thousands of Jews in Israel currently facing pressure due to the draft decree. The Satmar Rebbe, who has previously criticized 'Trumpism' within the Orthodox community, emphasized that his primary goal remains the protection of his community's educational institutions and warned his students against becoming overly focused on the prestige of the presidential meeting.
