Rotherham United sign Brentford goalkeeper Julian Eyestone on loan

Rotherham United have signed 20-year-old Brentford goalkeeper Julian Eyestone on a one-year loan deal. Standing at 6ft 6in, Eyestone will compete for the starting position at the League Two club during the upcoming season. The Texas-born goalkeeper is a member of the United States youth setup and trained with the senior national team earlier this summer during their preparations for the World Cup. Eyestone joined Brentford in 2024 and was named on the first-team bench for the FA Cup third-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday in January. He previously helped Brentford's Under-21 side reach the Premier League Cup final and was promoted to the club's senior squad a year ago. At Rotherham, Eyestone will compete with Dillon Phillips for the number one shirt. Following their relegation to League Two, Rotherham are hoping to secure an immediate promotion back to League One.
