Netflix teen drama The Body to premiere on 11 November

Netflix has announced that its new teen drama, The Body, will debut on the platform on 11 November. The streaming service released the first images from the production alongside the announcement, as reported by Variety. Created by Quinn Shephard, the eight-part series draws inspiration from 1990s and Y2K-era teen films, including Carrie and Jennifer’s Body. The plot centres on a group of Catholic schoolgirls who begin experiencing prophetic visions after a dance team tryout takes a disturbing turn, plunging their town into chaos and fear. The cast includes Kristine Froseth as Anya Butler, Sarah Bustani as Elize Zakaria, Gina Mesaros as Lisbeth Anderson, Nnamdi Asomugha as Father Franklin, Louisa Krause as Maddy Delaney, Jackson Kelly as Leo Anderson, and Sofia Wylie as Grace Franklin. In the same report, Variety noted the passing of former William Morris Agency head Jerry Katzman at the age of 89, Mike Epps’ signing with the Independent Artist Group, and Tanya Reynolds joining the fourth season of Ted Lasso as a women’s football coach.
