MK Simcha Rothman: Reserve duty burden must be shared by more people

MK Simcha Rothman of the Religious Zionism party unveiled the 'Reservists Home' program, aimed at reducing the burden on reserve soldiers and ensuring a more equitable distribution of military service. Rothman stated that many families of reservists are under significant strain and argued that a gradual enlistment of Haredi men into the military could have substantially eased this burden. He claimed that opposition to various versions of the draft law proposed during the current term hindered improvements for those serving. Rothman also criticized the stalling of legislative benefits for reservists, such as priority in civil service hiring, attributing it to demands to advance all components of the legislation simultaneously. Addressing the investigation into Force 100 reservists, he criticized the judicial system and defended his party's record in supporting combatants. Finally, Rothman emphasized the necessity of securing a 61-seat majority for the right-wing camp in upcoming elections, describing it as the only way to ensure the preservation of national values and prevent the formation of a different government.
