Iran’s nuclear chief not expected to attend IAEA General Conference, official says

Reports indicate that Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, is not expected to attend the annual General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. Eslami has been a regular participant in these annual gatherings in previous years. An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, attributed the absence to restrictions imposed by UN sanctions. These sanctions currently prevent the Iranian nuclear chief from engaging in international travel. The IAEA has not yet issued an official statement regarding the composition of the Iranian delegation.
