Pezeshkian to Fox News: US Must Choose Whether to End War

Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of the regime ruling Iran, claimed in an interview with Fox News aired Thursday that it is up to the United States to decide whether to end the war with Iran. Stating that Tehran does not wish to continue the conflict, he said, "When we can resolve issues through dialogue, we shouldn't resort to killing one another." He further alleged that Israel is responsible for instigating and imposing this war. These remarks follow Pezeshkian's defiant stance at the UN General Assembly in New York, where he declared that Iran would not "bend at the knee" to Washington. Despite this, he insisted that Iran is prepared to reach a deal with US President Donald Trump to end the hostilities. On the sidelines of the UN summit, the regime's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, though reports indicate the talks did not yield a breakthrough. Regarding the Houthi movement in Yemen, Pezeshkian claimed the group does not take directions from Tehran and that there is no "systematic relationship" between them. Washington and its allies, including Saudi Arabia, have consistently accused the regime ruling Iran of backing the Houthis and directing their ballistic missile attacks against Saudi infrastructure.
