Mad World acquires global sales rights for Egyptian drama ‘Al-Branya’

Mad World, the international sales arm of the Egyptian company Mad Solutions, has secured global sales rights for the drama 'Al-Branya' ahead of its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, as reported exclusively by Deadline. 'Al-Branya' is the debut feature film from Dutch-Egyptian director Ashgan El-Hamus and will be screened in the festival's parallel Giornate degli Autori section. The story follows Amal, a pregnant young woman living with her extended family in the Egyptian village of Al-Branya. When the family receives an offer to sell their land, their long-held beliefs and certainties begin to unravel. Amal finds herself caught between the traditions that have defined her identity and life, and the promise of a different future in the city. 'Al-Branya' is a co-production between Baldr Film, Sierra Films, and Caesar Films.
