Netanyahu: We will address the drone threat from the Gaza Strip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned in a video message on Sunday about the expanding threat of explosive drones reaching the Gaza Strip. Noting that these drones are highly precise and difficult to detect when deployed in swarms, he emphasized that Israel has been working for years to address this global challenge. Netanyahu pointed to the use of such technology in Ukraine, Lebanon, and Iran, stating that there are now attempts to introduce it into the Gaza arena. The Prime Minister stated that he has directed the defense establishment and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to combat this threat with full force. His directive includes striking the drones, their operators, and the launch sites to protect citizens in the Gaza border communities and beyond. Concurrently, Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that every drone launch from Gaza toward the western Negev will be treated as an act of war. Katz has instructed the IDF to take all necessary measures, including targeting Hamas leadership responsible for the launches, striking terrorist infrastructure, and clearing areas used for such operations.
