US and Iran hold first indirect talks in months on sidelines of UN General Assembly

On the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the regime ruling Iran, and US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner communicated through mediators. This marks the first indirect dialogue between the two sides in several months. According to the Jerusalem Post, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, facilitated the discussions. These developments occur amidst ongoing regional tensions and renewed diplomatic efforts to establish communication channels between Washington and Tehran.
