Iran warns South Korea over presence in Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Foreign Ministry has warned the South Korean government that any military presence by Seoul in the Strait of Hormuz will be regarded as support for what Tehran describes as US "aggression." Iranian officials emphasized that such a move would carry serious consequences for South Korea. This warning comes as tensions remain high in the Persian Gulf, a critical energy transit route. Previously, reports emerged of protests in Seoul against US requests to dispatch warships to the region. Tehran has consistently characterized the presence of extra-regional forces in the Persian Gulf as a source of instability and has frequently reacted to cooperation between other nations and US-led coalitions.
