Hillel Neuer: The UN operates with double standards against Israel

Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, criticized the United Nations' approach toward Israel in the 24th episode of Ynet's ALL CAPS. Neuer highlighted the long history of the UN targeting Israel, citing the 1975 General Assembly resolution that labeled Zionism as racism, and argued that this campaign intensified after the Six-Day War. He noted that in the past year, the UN General Assembly adopted only one resolution each on Iran, Syria, and North Korea, while targeting Israel with 15 resolutions, which he described as evidence of double standards. Neuer recalled his famous 2017 speech at the UN Human Rights Council, where he challenged Arab governments by asking, 'Where are your Jews?' in response to accusations of apartheid, contrasting the situation with the presence of Arab citizens in Israel. Regarding UNRWA, Neuer argued that the agency has perpetuated rather than resolved the Palestinian refugee issue. He also identified the statement by UN Secretary-General António Guterres following the October 7 attacks—that they 'did not happen in a vacuum'—as a defining moment that shattered his remaining faith in the UN's leadership.
