Iranian officials respond to Trump’s Hormuz threat: Worry about your own security

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Commission, has responded to US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks regarding the Strait of Hormuz by urging him to focus on his own security. In a social media post, Azizi mocked the US President, suggesting he should worry about his personal safety 'before he ends up hiding in a food truck' rather than engaging in what he termed 'endless bluffing' about the strategic waterway. This response follows comments made by Trump at a campaign rally in Long Island on Friday, where he stated his intention to declare the Strait of Hormuz as United States territory after defeating Iran. Trump further claimed that Iran currently has 'no leadership' and that there is 'nobody to negotiate with.' In parallel, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, rejected Trump's assertions, maintaining that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian authority. Gharibabadi stated that the waterway will only be managed under Iran's command and affirmed that the current naval blockade will persist until Washington acknowledges its 'strategic defeat.'
