Tadej Pogacar solos to spectacular Stage 4 win at Vuelta a Espana

Tadej Pogacar, the 27-year-old UAE Team Emirates rider, delivered a stunning performance in Stage 4 of the Vuelta a Espana. Launching a solo attack with 50km remaining in the 104.8km mountain stage, he crossed the finish line two minutes and 39 seconds ahead of runners-up Jarno Widar and Felix Gall. This victory marks the largest winning margin of Pogacar's Grand Tour career to date. Pogacar now leads the general classification by three minutes and 21 seconds over his compatriot Primoz Roglic. Reflecting on the race, Pogacar noted that while the route was brutal, the significant time gap provides him with calm and confidence for the coming days. The previous day's Stage 3 was abandoned due to a violent hailstorm in Andorra, an event Pogacar described as a crazy experience, while praising race organisers for their decision to halt the stage for rider safety.
