Crystal Palace in talks to re-sign Evan Guessand on loan

Crystal Palace are in negotiations to bring Aston Villa forward Evan Guessand back to the club on a season-long loan, according to BBC Sport. The 25-year-old spent the second half of the previous campaign at Selhurst Park and was part of the squad that secured the Europa Conference League title in May, appearing as a substitute in the final against Rayo Vallecano. Guessand joined Aston Villa from Nice for £26 million last August but struggled for form, scoring only two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. Following his January move to Palace, he scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Having been part of the Aston Villa squad earlier in the season, he also received a winner's medal for their Europa League campaign. After Crystal Palace opted not to trigger a permanent purchase clause earlier this summer, Guessand returned to Aston Villa for pre-season training. He also made two substitute appearances for Ivory Coast during this year's World Cup.
