British officials confirmed the incident, noting that the facility was relatively small and that the event did not affect the national power supply or the UK's broader energy production capacity. The plant was reportedly offline while staff worked to restore operations. Following the incident, the British government briefed energy company executives and issued guidance on necessary defensive measures. The event was reported to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which operates under GCHQ. Analysts suggest the attack was intended to demonstrate the capability of actors linked to the IRGC to penetrate and disable sensitive infrastructure.
