Israel and Honduras expand defense cooperation amid regional threats

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sunday with his Honduran counterpart, Enrique Rodríguez Burchard, to deepen defense cooperation between the two nations. The signing ceremony took place during an official visit by a senior Honduran defense delegation to Israel, attended by IMOD Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram. The MOU establishes a framework for long-term cooperation based on shared interests and values. Honduras is considered a key partner for Israel in Central America, noted for its consistent support in the international arena. During the visit, the Honduran delegation held security discussions with Israeli officials, focusing on strategic issues and lessons learned from Israel's recent multi-front conflicts. The delegation was briefed on Israel's defense capabilities and industrial activities. The Israeli Ministry of Defense stated that this agreement is part of a broader strategy to expand its circle of defense partnerships and strengthen strategic ties with friendly nations globally.
