Rising economic pressure and the prospect of new protests in Iran

Six months after the start of Israeli strikes on Iran, reports indicate an intensifying economic crisis and soaring inflation. According to The New York Times, Iranian citizens are expressing deep anxiety over their livelihoods and warning of a potential new wave of protests in the near future. Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei issued a message calling on the public to avoid any expressions of despair that might weaken national resolve. The United States has shifted its strategy, focusing primarily on maximum economic pressure. President Donald Trump has stated that he has no interest in negotiating with Tehran, and Washington is implementing a plan to isolate Iran from its trading partners. Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani acknowledged the economic difficulties but emphasized the need for unity to overcome these pressures. Nevertheless, some citizens argue that given the current state of hunger and economic distress, it will be impossible to stop an economic uprising through violence or war.
