Abu Dhabi’s Lulu Island development plan confirmed by Eagle Hills

Eagle Hills Properties, led by Emirati real estate mogul Mohamed Alabbar, has confirmed it is overseeing the development of Lulu Island in Abu Dhabi. The 400-hectare man-made island, constructed in the 1990s, is now seeing active construction work. While specific details remain undisclosed, the project aligns with the Abu Dhabi Plan 2030, which projects a population of approximately 20,000 for the island. Real estate experts anticipate the development will feature low-rise buildings, villas, and luxury mansions, with potential bridge connections to the mainland. Lulu Island, located 500 metres from the Corniche, was briefly opened to the public in 2007 before development stalled following the 2008 financial crisis. Amid a surge in demand for ultra-luxury residential properties in the capital, the island is now being positioned as a prime location for high-net-worth investors.
