US imposes new sanctions on Iran’s military and oil networks

The US Department of State and Department of the Treasury announced new sanctions on Monday against dozens of entities, individuals, and vessels linked to the Islamic Republic. The action, dubbed 'Operation Economic Outcast,' aims to restrict revenue used by Tehran to support regional proxies and suppress domestic dissent. According to i24NEWS, the sanctions target two Iran-based entities: Dadenegar Startup Studio, accused of using commercial satellite imagery for military targeting, and the IRGC Cyber-Electronic Command, for obtaining information on US military assets. Seven senior military and security officials were also designated, including Ahmad Vahidi, Ali Abdollahi, Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, Sayyed Hosein Majid Musavi Eftekhari, Seyyed Mahdi Farahi, Amir Hatami, and Reza Talaei-Nik. Furthermore, nearly 60 entities and individuals involved in Iran's petroleum and petrochemical trade, including firms based in Hong Kong and India, were targeted. Under these sanctions, all property and interests of the designated persons within US jurisdiction are blocked, and US persons are prohibited from engaging in transactions with them.
