Gerrer Rebbe approves Yitzhak Goldknopf to continue as Hasidic representative in next Knesset

Yitzhak Goldknopf, the representative of the Gerrer Hasidic movement within the United Torah Judaism (UTJ) alliance, has received the blessing of the Gerrer Rebbe to continue serving as the movement's representative in the next Knesset. The Hamodia newspaper, which is affiliated with the Gerrer movement, praised Goldknopf as one of the most effective officials Agudat Yisrael has seen in many years. Reflecting on the outgoing parliamentary term, Goldknopf described it as a difficult and unprecedented period for the Haredi community, alleging that Torah scholars have faced a cruel campaign of persecution despite the presence of a right-wing government. Regarding his past conduct, Goldknopf stated that he acted in complete obedience to the directives of leading Torah sages, including his resignation from his government position and the coalition when instructed to do so. Looking toward the future, he emphasized the need to learn from past events and expressed his commitment to working alongside all UTJ representatives to rectify the current situation.
