According to Variety, Sky News has defended its U.S. correspondent James Matthews following a heated exchange with Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed. The network stated it is proud of Matthews, asserting that he was simply doing his job. Matthews himself commented on the confrontation, noting that he had not had the opportunity to ask the politician any questions before El-Sayed approached him and began questioning him.
