Israel launches widespread strikes in southern Lebanon after three IDF soldiers wounded

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a wave of strikes in southern Lebanon following a drone attack that left an officer and two soldiers from the Yahalom Combat Engineering unit seriously wounded. The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the incident occurred near the Ali Taher Ridge and constituted a direct violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah. According to reports from Lebanon, the IDF conducted extensive airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting the villages of Roumin and Deir Siriane. The IDF confirmed that the retaliatory strikes killed Ali Hassan, a battalion commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force. The military stated that Hassan was a lawful target and alleged that he was using his family as human shields inside a military headquarters at the time of the strike. The wounded soldiers were transported to Rambam Medical Center, where two remain in serious condition and one in moderate condition.
