Attack on Israeli soldier thwarted at Rimonim Junction as manhunt continues for Jordan Valley stabber

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that an attempted weapons-snatching and attack on soldiers was thwarted Sunday afternoon at Rimonim Junction in the Binyamin region. According to the IDF spokesperson, an attacker attempted to seize the personal weapon of a soldier from Battalion 94. The soldier responded immediately by opening fire, neutralizing the attacker. No Israeli casualties were reported, and large security forces were dispatched to the scene. This incident occurred just hours after a stabbing attack in the village of al-Auja in the Jordan Valley, which left 24-year-old career serviceman Elhanan Hanania moderately wounded. According to his family, Hanania was on vacation with his wife and children when he was ambushed from behind while returning to his vehicle. His brothers stated at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem that he suffered a fractured shoulder and internal bleeding. Security forces have launched an extensive manhunt to apprehend the perpetrator, with operations expanded into the Jericho area.
