Mojtaba Khamenei Appoints Mohsen Rezaei and Zolghadr to Senior Political Posts

Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, has appointed Mohsen Rezaei and Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, two veteran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders, to senior political positions within the state structure. According to the Jerusalem Post, in statements attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei, Mohsen Rezaei has been introduced as the representative of the Supreme Leader in the "Supreme Military Council," and Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr has been appointed as his political adviser. Mohsen Rezaei is a former commander of the IRGC. In an archival image published by Reuters, he is seen at the funeral ceremony in Tehran of Ali Shamkhani, the political adviser to the former Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. Shamkhani was killed in airstrikes. Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr is also considered a long-standing figure in the IRGC. The appointment of these two former commanders to political posts highlights their prominent positions within the decision-making structure of the Islamic Republic's government.
