Tehran Responds to Trump’s Strait of Hormuz Map: We Will Correct His Delusions

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, responded on Tuesday via the social media platform X to a map posted by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Trump had shared an image on Truth Social depicting the Strait of Hormuz, along with parts of Iran and the Persian Gulf, labeled as "America's new territory." Gharibabadi dismissed the post as a "delusion," stating: "Trump's delusion regarding the Strait of Hormuz will be corrected soon; either the delusion will be corrected, or we will correct the delusions of this delusional man." This exchange highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategic maritime chokepoints and a long-standing focal point of geopolitical friction between Washington and Tehran.
